For most rooms, it is better to define the intended use clearly than to install extra equipment that is rarely charged or used.
Plan for support beyond the first term
Audio systems are often judged by their performance after several years, not on installation day. Microphones can be misplaced, chargers can be moved and room layouts can change. A support plan should make it straightforward to replace consumables, resolve faults and keep settings consistent after other AV work takes place.
Preventative maintenance can identify worn connectors, declining battery performance, loose mounts and changes to wireless conditions before they interrupt teaching. It also gives schools an opportunity to review whether the room still meets its needs. A classroom that has gained an interactive display, altered its seating layout or changed its teaching use may benefit from adjustments to its audio configuration.
For multi-room projects, standardising where practical makes daily support easier. Consistent microphone types, charging arrangements, user controls and labelling reduce the learning curve for staff moving between rooms. There will be exceptions in specialist spaces, but standardisation should be the starting point rather than an afterthought.
